Romane Bouffioux is a percussionist, performer and teacher based in Bern, Switzerland specialized in contemporary music. 

She is particularly interested in creation, interdisciplinary and artistic collaboration in the field of new music. She graduated her Master in Pedagogy with highly distinction in the HKB with renowned musicians such as Brian Archinal, Jochen Schorer, Simon Steen Andersen, Cathy Van Eck among other. She is particularly passionate about sound and physical aspect of the music on stage and is the founder of different project in the fields of creation, théâtre musical, electro-acoustic music called Romanesco Duo and Projet Ohr. She took part in festival such as Internationales Musikinstitut Darmstadt, Time of Music Finland, Mixtur Barcelona, Les amplitudes CH, Musik festival Bern…and played with different renowned ensemble and orchestra like Ensemble Modern, IEMA, Eklekto, Ensemble Symphonique de Neuchâtel among other. Besides written repertoire, she very willingly improvise and it’s a way for her to make new musical meeting and inspiration. Before her studies in Bern, she studied in the Conservatoire de Strasbourg with Emmanuel Sejourné, Denis Riedinger and Stefan Fougeroux where she received her diploma with a high distinction. In 2023 she is the laureate of the Kranischteiner Musikpreis (Stadt Darmstadt). 

Romane Bouffioux has collaborated with Ensemble Modern, IEMA, We spoke, Polyphorm FINTAQ improvisiert!, Vertigo Ensemble, Eklekto, Soundtrieb, Tramontana… She has played in different venues such as Darmstadt International Festival GE, Time of Music FIN, Les amplitudes CH, les Chorégies d'Orange F, Adams international percussion festival ND, Forum Neue Musik Luzern CH,  Festival Firme22, Baranquilla COL, Geht in Land Burgdord CH, Musik Festival Bern CH, Katalpult CH, Alternatiba CH...

She has studied or followed Masterclasses with Brian Archinal, Jochen Schorer, Christian Hartmann, Emmanuel Sejourné, Stephan Fougeroux, Denis Riedinger, Christian Dierstein, Sarah Hennies, Giles Durot, Simone Rubino, Isao Nakamura, John H Beck, Luis Tabuenca, Nancy Zeltsmann, Pei-Ching Wu, Momoko Kamiya, Andrei Pushkarev, David Friedmann, Anders Åstrend, Christian Weber, Andrea Parkins, Ute Wassermann, Daniel Studer, Magda Mayas , William parker, Christian Kobi, Bruno Castelluci, Jan de Haas, Theo De Jong, Luis Tabuenca, Nicolas Masson, Raphael Haeger, Franz Lang, Graham Johns, Daniel Druckmann, Iñaki Martin, Jochen Brenner, Philippe Poncet, Raymond Curfs, Benoit Cambreling, Nick Woud…
